However, the ultimate push for higher screen refresh rate happened with the launch of OnePlus 7 Pro ( review) and with billboards across the country advertising its ‘smooth’ 2K AMOLED screen. Soon Asus joined the bandwagon with a 90Hz refresh rate display in ROG phone. All this chatter around the higher smartphone display refresh rate started when the Razer phone and Razor Phone 2 debuted with a 120Hz refresh rate screen. Until last year none of us really talked about the screen refresh rate on the phones, at least not on mainstream phones.
